Hello again! The rest of the pics are in and I’m ready to share the last leg of my journey with you all. I’ll also have you know that today is my birthday, so WOOHOO happy birthday to me! So anyway, without any further ado, here is the rest of my adventure at Port Con Maine 2008!
So I mentioned before that I was going to a Smash Bros. Brawl tournament. Port Con Maine is just as much about gaming as it is about anime and there was a fairly large room devoted to video gaming. There was of course a DDR game going on as well as Medal Of Honor for the XBox 360 (which looks awesome by the way). The main event though was Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii which was being displayed on a ridiculously large flat screen TV! The tournament was held in this room with the prize being a Mario doll. So with that being the case, who wouldn’t beat up people for a Mario doll! “Of course I would!” I said to myself and entered into the tournament of 30 some-odd people. The preliminary rounds were 4 players all against each other and the final round was a one-on-one. Let me say that there were some ridiculously good people playing this game and I wasn’t sure if I even stood a chance! But I made it through and playing as Luigi all the way through I was one of the favored to win. Let me just say that they made Luigi even more powerful in Brawl than they did in Melee and playing as him is great. So anyways, when it came down to it I was victorious and over all the carnage I got the Mario doll!
Unfortunately the tournament took a long time and I didn’t get to do a whole lot else that day. I went back to the dealer room one last time to see if there was anything else there I wanted and I found someone selling pins.

I just had to get this one it just fits our theme so well! We’ll have to make Kadin wear it next con =)
I also got my hands on last years Port Con shirt.

I got the Port Con Maine 2007 shirt because I liked it better than the 2008 one. Nothing against you 2008 shirt but I like undead/demonic girls in skimpy clothes a bit more than cyborgs!
I had to get going soon after the dealer room so I didn’t get a chance to take more cosplayer pics. I did however get my hands on a few that others took. Enjoy!
This was an awesome Vash, he did a really good job with the gloves and boots and he fit the part really well being tall and blonde haired. He was the only Vash I saw, I remember when you used to see tons of him at cons!
Misty from Pokemon. She also fit her part pretty well. She didn’t have the wierd side-ponytail from the 80’s going on but that’s probably for the better!

This was such an awesome costume! Who would have thought that there would be a Pimp Mario!!
It’s Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 complete with the huge knife!
And that’s all I got for that. On Sunday we just walked around and dropped down more flyers. I did one last look around and I managed to get a picture with these lovely ladies before we left.

Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess! on the left and a persicom from Chobits on the right (not Chi just a random persicom) and me in the middle with my cherished Mario prize.
And that’s my tale. It was a whole lot of fun and I’m glad that we got to introduce Millionaire Geeks at such a great event! We’re already seeing more traffic so it looks like we sparked a little interest there. I say, if you haven’t signed up for our newsletter then you definitely should! We are going to be sending out our first issue at the end of next month after our next adventure at Connecticon.
All in all Port Con Maine 2008 was a great experience and we look forward to going back next year! Until then, peace out Maine!
