Well the pictures are in and as promised, we’d like to share them with all of you! Unfortunately Mr.J was unable to attend but in his absence I dove into the world of anime and gaming that was Port Con Maine 2008. I met tons of interesting and fun (not to mention geeky) people who loved our idea and thought it was great that we were targeting information on e-marketing towards geeks. If you attended, perhaps you saw our flyers or even ran into me (I had a name tag with “Drake” on it, go figure!) and had the opportunity to hear first-hand what we do. So without further ado, sit back and hear my tale of every geeks’ favorite pasttime, attending a convention!
So to start off, we decided to drag along a friend of ours, Bob, who is not an anime fan by any means, to experience his first convention. Here he is at the front desk of the Eastland Hotel where Port Con Maine 2008 was held. Also in the back there are our flyers sitting on the front desk with the bellhop peeking at them curiously.

Bob at the front desk.
From there we went to the registration table and I got a shot of the pretty Port Con Maine 2008 banner.

After that we hit the dealer room. It wasn’t nearly as big as the one at Connecticon but it had enough to satisfy the average anime/gamer geek. It was here that we ran into our first few cosplayers…

Old Snake & Meryl

Final Fantasy White Mage and “L”

I don’t know who they are or why that girl has a swastika around her neck but their outfits and equipment were really cool.
After satisfying my need for cosplay pics I then decided to satisfy my need to empty my wallet! The dealer room had everything from tons of anime dvds to dungeons and dragons books (the new ones unfortunately) and I got a few things that I had never been able to find at other cons.

It’s kirby!

I loved this little “L” doll, he seemed to be really popular at Port Con. Next to him is Sabre from “Fate Stay Night”

And what would any dealer room be without cat ears!
From the dealer room we decided to take a look around and spread the word about Millionaire Geeks a little. We couldn’t help but notice the LAN room.

That’s a lot of Bawls!

It’s Indiana Jones! I’m planning to dress as him for Connecticon.

This is Andi, she has a web comic called Easy Skankin’, you can find it here. Love the outfit!
I myself went to the cosplay show where I got to see a number of different outfits. Unfortunately my view was pretty bad and if people didn’t get in the way the microphone did. I did my best and I got a few worth showing.

A soldier unit from War Hammer 40K

Not really sure who this one was, if anyone knows please feel free to comment.

This one is from a magic card but I forget which one…really good job on the outfit though, love the wings!

Urahara and a few of the Soul Reapers from Bleach

Ms. Lovette from Sweeney Todd. Sweeney was there too but I couldn’t get him in the photo >.<
I had to run off to the Smash Bros. Brawl tournament because the two events overlapped and I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the cosplayers after the event. I did manage to get a few more cosplayers before the tournament though.

This lucky dude got to take a picture with No Face from Spirited Away and a random cat girl.
I also found these 2 lovely ladies making “good use” of our flyers. Luckily they were kind enough to promote us as well as their uhh….skills =)

The one on the right with the Millionaire Geeks flyer is Soifon from Bleach, I’m not really sure who the one on the left is supposed to be.
That’s all for now. I still need to get the pictures from Bob’s camera. Not to mention this post is getting pretty long! So stay tuned for part 2 of my adventure! When it’s done you can view it here.
To be continued…
